Don’t scrap your bike, bring it back to cycling life! Here’s how…..
Bike week starts this Saturday and Recycle for Greater Manchester in partnership with Transport for Greater Manchester begins its campaign to encourage residents to think about re-using their bikes, rather than throwing them away to scrap metal.
We want to free unwanted bikes from sheds across Greater Manchester , by urging people to get them out and take it to one of our bike week sessions, where they can also get a free bike health check and get their bike back on the road. Alternatively, if they no longer need their bike they can donate it there and then. For those who have not got a bike but want one they can enter our free prize draw to win a preloved bike or adult cycling lessons.
Although our main objective for bike week is to get residents to think about donating and not disposing of their unwanted bikes to reduce waste, bikes are a form of sustainable transport and cycling has is good for your health!
